Easy Fix Breakfast
ByOne of our favorite easy fix breakfasts is something we coined, “Horse Mash.”
Put some olive oil (or another kind of oil) in the bottom of a frying pan. Add some honey. You don’t really want measurements do you? We just pour it in.
Put in some old fashioned oats and stir it up. If you need more oil or honey, you can just add it. Make sure you stir well. To the oats you can add almost anything you like.
Here are some ideas:
- raisins
- flax seed
- protein powder
- any grains
- any nuts (sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews, etc)
- peanut butter
- dried fruits
This takes about 5 minutes to make. The kids usually add a tablespoon of brown sugar for a little extra sweetness.
You can eat this with milk, or handfuls like granola. Sprinkle it on yogurt? It tastes best warm straight off the stove.
How’s that for easy?
