21 Day Challenge
ByTomorrow, I’m beginning a new venture with my children. As most of you know, I’m an entrepreneur to the very core of my being. The past few years I’ve struggled with how to support my family and still love what I do. Not any more! We’re in this together!
This past week, I finally decided to have some conversations with God about this. I set an appointment with God, sang a little to Him, praised Him, talked with him, then listened. I knew he was going to answer in a big way. He is the God of making paths straight – and boy did I need a little path straightening in my life. Every day this week, I did the same routine. I listened. I tried to strain to hear his voice, I even tried to invent in my subconsious what I “thought” he might be saying to me. I decided to wait. The reason I decided to wait was because the verse came to me, “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not grow weary.” So…I waited.
I had been looking forward to Boss Event 2010 with Carrie Wilkerson, but mostly because I like rubbing shoulders with amazing people. I had never been to one of Carrie’s events so I didn’t really know what to expect, except that I just loved Carrie the Barefoot Executive. Now I can say, “been there, done that, and have the t-shirt!” One of the perks of volunteering was that I got one of the awesome golf style shirts with the barefoot logo on it. (Oh dear – I have so digressed)
Immediately upon arriving to help I knew things were going to change for me. I heard God say, “are you ready to listen to me?”
The first few speakers were amazing. I took page after page of notes. But then Paul Evans began to talk about speaking. His message sunk deep into my spirit. For the past five years, I had decided that public speaking was no longer a venue afforded to me. I won’t bore you with all the lies I believed that made me think that. What I will tell you is that when there is something that is such an integral part of who you are and someone begins to resurrect it in your life, you feel freedom. My heart quickened. I was a little concerned that maybe I should get my blood pressure checked. But no, the excitement was simply bubbling inside me.
When you do battle with what your destiny is and then finally surrender, there is an amazing feeling of release and relief. That is where I am tonight.
Through all the speakers at the event, God whispered which way I should go.
Tomorrow I will be holding a family meeting with the children. They are a giant part of my dream. All that I am, all that I believe in, and my talents and passions are culminating in the 21 Day Challenge. I’m going to charge the kids that we will raise $5000.00 in just 21 days! The kids (and I) will create businesses that will profit us $5000.00. And you will get to participate with us in our big dream!
I’m going to document us, every step of the way, from the unveiling of the dream all the way to showing the processes, challenges, decisions, road blocks, and the SUCCESS!
You will learn as we learn. You will cheer as my kids see their dreams become reality. Your kids will get inspired as they watch my kids who are 12, 14, 16, 17, 19, and 23 create businesses that will be making money before the end of the month.
More details about how you can follow our adventure will be coming tomorrow.
